Sorry for this long delay. There have definitely been changes since my last update in June. So, let’s not waste time and get to the rundown.
Back in July, the biggest change was Soap being bumped to weekends only. The weekend schedule in the early afternoon had some juggling, but nothing was removed or added to the network’s slate. What’s Happening!! and its follow-up series are both on weekends while Family Ties is now weekdays-only.
After a great response for its tribute last Sunday to Peter Tork, MeTV is making The Monkees a permanent fixture to its Sunday schedule. The ’60s show, known for its quick cuts, occasional meta humor, and music videos, was seen on Antenna TV until early 2018 and remains a Saturday fixture for fetv. It has also aired on IFC — but I couldn’t tell you if it is still on its schedule. The Monkees replaces The Jeffersons, which can still be seen Monday through Friday.
A few updates I missed last week and a few minor tweaks.
Goodbye: A Different World
(I missed these last week…) Not that A Different World aired more than a couple times a week, but its now been a couple weekends since the ’80s sitcom was a part of the network’s lineup. It (re)joined Laff this past weekend. The network recruiting Scandal might not have worked out as hoped as its already been bumped to the overnight hours. The weekday schedule shuffles its sitcom and movie blocks (weekdays and weekends) around and Half & Half moves to weekends, but the changes aren’t major.
Hello: La Femme Nikita Goodbye: Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons; Space 1999; Thunderbirds
La Femme Nikita joins CHiPs as Charge!’s weekday retro programming with three episodes every afternoon.
And at some point in January, the weekend schedule converted movies. The newcomers Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons didn’t even last the month. Space 1999 is also gone as are weekend editions of its weekday shows.
